Finite element analysis of bevel gear tooth side clearance and fatigue characteristics under alternating torque

Abstract In this paper, the effect of different tooth side clearances on fatigue characteristics bevel gears under alternating torque is investigated using finite element analysis technology. The article first determines structure form and main parameters gear completes establishment three-dimensional model transmission. Then, based principle analysis, are simulated by ANSYS workbench software. Next, according to simulation results, changes in service life safety coefficient with analyzed, relevant conclusions drawn. Finally, combined axial adjustment amount assembly project guided, actual use verified. results show that when clearance jn taken range 0.04·m∼0.08·m, gradually decrease increase .
